Some songs have new words for your young learners. Here are some simple ways to explain them to your preschoolers.

Forgiven

when God doesn’t hold your sins against you even though he ought to. Jesus died on the cross for our sins so that we could be forgiven. God is so holy that he can’t stand to see our sin, and we’re all sinful so Jesus died to take away our sin so that we could know God.

Free

to not be a prisoner to sin anymore. We can’t stop sinning by ourselves, and so it’s like we’re locked in a prison of our bad desires. But Jesus took away our sins when he died on the cross, and he promises to help us stop sinning or “to free us from our sin.”
